Melissa competes in the DCB student award session
Today Melissa Kenny presented her talk "Effects of environmental temperature on viscosity of Manduca sexta hemolymph" in the Division of Comparative Biomechanics student award session at this year's SICB conference (in Tampa). Melissa didn't win, but she gave a really strong talk, and was in the running for the prize. Thanks to undergrad lab member Kristie Crandall and collaborator Dr. Brent Sinclair (U. Western Ontario), who were also co-authors of the talk. We're hoping to submit the manuscript from this work by early summer. In the photo, Melissa is being introduced by Dr. Sheila Patek, who is the chair of DCB.
